Two million units sold worldwide and best-seller status in Morocco: the Duster has become much more than a budget SUV. With this third generation, launched in Morocco for the 2026 model year, Dacia switched platform (CMF-B, shared with the Renault Captur), design and equipment level, while keeping what made it a success: 209 mm of ground clearance, reinforced body protection and no-nonsense toughness.
At Fun & Run we chose the petrol Duster with automatic gearbox, the most pleasant version for a stay in Morocco: smooth in Casablanca traffic, relaxed on the motorway to Marrakech and tall enough to tackle Atlas tracks or back-country roads with confidence. This page gathers everything you need to know about the 2026 model before booking.

What changes with the 3rd generation
The 2026 Duster leaves the old Logan-derived underpinnings for Renault Group's modular CMF-B platform. The result is a stiffer body, better filtering of noise and vibration, and room for modern engines such as the direct-injection 1.3 TCe turbo.
The styling is bolder: redesigned bumpers, wheel arches and sills protected by mass-coloured plastic (scratches don't show), a new Y-shaped LED light signature and the Dacia Link emblem on a full-width grille. The footprint stays compact (4.34 m) so parking in the narrow streets of Casablanca or Marrakech remains easy.
Inside, the step up in quality is obvious: a horizontal dashboard with a driver-oriented 10" touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, new more supportive seats and the YouClip system, six anchor points for a phone holder, a lamp or a cup holder.
Why the Duster is the right choice for a trip to Morocco
Morocco's main road network is excellent, but secondary roads to kasbahs, southern beaches or Atlas villages can be rough. With 209 mm of ground clearance, tall tyres and body protection, the Duster shrugs off potholes and dirt tracks where a regular saloon would force you to slow down or turn back.
The raised driving position gives great visibility in dense Casablanca traffic, and the automatic gearbox removes the fatigue of constant stop-start driving. On the A7 motorway from Casablanca to Marrakech (about 2h30), the TCe 150 cruises effortlessly at 120 km/h at low revs, with fuel consumption that stays reasonable.
Finally, the Duster remains a discreet and extremely common car in Morocco: no unwanted attention, parts available everywhere and a real spare wheel in the boot, a detail that matters once you leave the big cities.
Who is this SUV for?
The 2026 Duster is built for couples and families of up to 5 who plan to cover ground: the imperial cities circuit, the Marrakech–Ouarzazate–Merzouga loop, the Atlantic coast down to Essaouira or Agadir. The 594 L boot swallows four adults' luggage, and rear Isofix anchors secure the child seats we provide.
If you travel as a party of 6 or 7, look at our 7-seaters instead (Dacia Jogger, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Frontera). If you are staying in the city on a tight budget, an automatic city car such as the Hyundai i10 or Kia Picanto will do.
2026 Duster engines in Morocco
In Morocco, Dacia offers the new Duster with two engines and four trim levels (Essential, Expression, Journey, Extreme), from 232,000 MAD list price. Here is how they compare, and which one you will drive with Fun & Run.
- 1.3 TCe 150 EDC — Version rented by Fun & Run : Petrol, 7-speed automatic, 150 hp / 250 Nm, 6.2 L/100 km. This is the version in our fleet. The dual-clutch gearbox makes Casablanca traffic effortless and the turbo gives plenty of margin for overtaking on national roads.
- 1.5 dCi 115 : Diesel, 6-speed manual, 115 hp, 4.7 L/100 km. The frugal manual diesel is the entry-level version in Morocco. We do not offer it for rent: our customers prefer the automatic.

FAQ
Is the Duster I will rent really the new 2026 model?
Our Duster fleet consists of latest-generation petrol automatic units, renewed regularly. Like every rental company we book a category ("Duster or similar"): in the rare event of last-minute unavailability you get an automatic SUV of equivalent size, never a lower category.
Is the rented Duster a 4x4?
No. In Morocco the 2026 Duster is sold as front-wheel drive (4x2) across the range, including the TCe 150 automatic. Its 209 mm ground clearance is more than enough for graded tracks (Agafay, Draa valley, Erg Chebbi up to the hotels). Dune driving or river crossings are not allowed under our rental terms.
What is the real-world fuel consumption of the TCe 150 automatic Duster?
Dacia quotes 6.2 L/100 km on the combined cycle. In real-world Moroccan driving, expect 6.5-7 L/100 km on the motorway at 120 km/h and 8-9 L/100 km in Casablanca traffic. With the 50 L petrol tank, a full tank covers 650-800 km.
How many suitcases fit in the boot?
With 594 litres under the parcel shelf, the Duster takes three large hard-shell hold suitcases plus two cabin bags. Folding part of the 40/60 rear bench increases the volume to 1,696 litres for surf or golf gear.
Can I pick up the Duster at Casablanca airport and return it in Marrakech?
Yes. Delivery at Mohammed V airport is free; returning in another city (Marrakech, Rabat, Agadir, Tangier…) is possible with a one-way fee shown at booking time. Mileage stays unlimited.
What deposit is required to rent a Dacia Duster?
On the Basic plan a pre-authorisation is taken on your credit card and released when the car is returned. On the Premium plan (full cover, zero excess) no deposit is required. The exact amount is shown on the vehicle page for your dates.
