The fourth-generation Carens, launched in 2022, reinvents Kia's family MPV as a stretched SUV: 4.54 m long, 2.78 m wheelbase, an "Opposites United" front end with tiger grille and LED lights, and three rows of seats for six or seven passengers. Kia Morocco offers it with the 115 hp 1.5 CRDi VGT diesel and automatic gearbox (Motion, Active and Executive trims, 320,000 to 370,000 MAD list), with a 10.25-inch screen, ventilated seats, sunroof, aviation tray tables and six airbags.
Fun & Run rents the Carens as a diesel automatic: our cheapest 7-seater to run, with a claimed 4.9 L/100 km and over 900 km per tank. For a large family or group of friends landing at Mohammed V airport and planning to criss-cross Morocco, it combines MPV volume, an SUV driving position and a city car's fuel budget.

The Carens: all the space you need
Kia designed the Carens as an "SUV recreational vehicle": 195 mm ground clearance, roof rails, sill protection, tiger grille framed by LED headlights and a rear light bar. At 4.54 m with a 2.78 m wheelbase – the longest in its class – it lines up three rows of seats: two captain's chairs or a bench in row 2 depending on version (6 or 7 seats), and two seats in row 3 with their own vents and USB ports.
Access to the third row is eased by row-2 seats that fold electrically at the press of a button; inside, the light upholstery, ventilated front seats, aviation-style tray tables on the front seatbacks and sunroof create a family lounge atmosphere. The 10.25-inch touchscreen handles navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charger sits on the console.
Kia quotes 216 litres of boot with all three rows up and 1,164 litres once rows 2 and 3 are folded. Safety relies on six airbags, ESC with stability management, hill start assist and front and rear parking sensors.
Why the Carens for your stay in Morocco
The Carens is our 7-seater for long distances: its 1.5 CRDi diesel uses 5 to 6 L/100 km in real use, i.e. 800 to 900 km per 45-litre tank of diesel, cheaper than petrol in Morocco. The automatic gearbox and generous torque make Casablanca–Marrakech–Ouarzazate or Casablanca–Fez–Chefchaouen relaxing, even with seven aboard and luggage.
Its 195 mm ground clearance handles secondary roads and graded hotel tracks; its high driving position and rear camera make city life easy. Vents and USB ports in every row, ventilated seats and the sunroof keep everyone comfortable, including in row 3.
Against the Dacia Jogger, the Carens is automatic, better finished and better equipped; against the Hyundai Santa Fe, it is more compact, less powerful but far more economical. The best compromise for a family of six or seven that counts the kilometres.

FAQ
Does the Carens have 6 or 7 seats?
Depending on the unit: the 6-seat version has two individual captain's chairs in row 2 (easy row-3 access), the 7-seat version a three-seat bench. State the exact number of passengers at booking so we allocate the right configuration.
How much luggage with 7 aboard in the Carens?
216 litres behind row 3: five to six cabin bags or two medium suitcases. With six aboard and one row-3 seat folded, you exceed 400 litres; with 5 seats, about 600 litres for four large suitcases. A roof box can be provided on request.
What range from a full tank?
With 45 litres of diesel and 5 to 6 L/100 km in real use, expect 750 to 900 km. It is the cheapest 7-seater to run in our fleet.
Is the Carens a 4x4?
No, it is a two-wheel-drive SUV-MPV. Its 195 mm ground clearance is enough for rough roads and graded tracks; off-roading is excluded by our terms.
Carens or Dacia Jogger?
The Jogger is manual, petrol and cheaper; the Carens is automatic, diesel, more upmarket (ventilated seats, 10.25" screen, 6 airbags) and more frugal. On a tight budget, Jogger; for comfort and long automatic distances, Carens.
What deposit for the Kia Carens?
On the Basic plan a pre-authorisation is taken on your credit card and released on return; the amount is shown on the vehicle page. On Premium, no deposit and no excess, and child seats are free.
