The Yaris is the city car that democratised hybrids: fourth generation on the TNGA-B platform, European Car of the Year 2021, facelifted in 2024 with a new screen, digital cluster and the latest Toyota Safety Sense. In Morocco, Toyota du Maroc now sells it only as a full hybrid: a 1.5 three-cylinder petrol paired with an electric motor and a small battery that recharges as you drive, for 3.5 L/100 km combined and 3.1 L/100 km in town according to Toyota.

How the Yaris Hybrid works
Toyota's full hybrid system pairs a 1.5 Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, an electric motor and a generator linked by a planetary gearset – the famous e-CVT. At start-up and low speed the Yaris runs on pure electricity; under acceleration the two motors combine; on deceleration and braking, energy recharges the battery. The driver does nothing: no cable, no mode to select, just an "Eco Drive" indicator to help optimise consumption.
The result: 3.5 L/100 km combined and 3.1 L/100 km in town according to Toyota du Maroc, half that of an equivalent petrol city car in traffic jams. The fourth generation, on the TNGA-B platform, also gained rigidity, handling and safety, with a front-centre airbag unprecedented in the class.
The 2024 facelift brings a digital cluster, a larger infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the latest Toyota Safety Sense: pre-collision with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise, lane departure alert, automatic high beam and road sign assist.
Why the Yaris Hybrid for your stay in Morocco
If your stay is mostly in Casablanca, Rabat or Marrakech, the Yaris Hybrid is unbeatable: it uses a third of an SUV's fuel in traffic, parks in the tightest spaces and its silence in electric mode makes the city relaxing. Toyota du Maroc sells the Yaris exclusively as a 1.5 HEV full hybrid with e-CVT, in several trims (Luxe Hybride, Lounge Plus…) from around 212,000 MAD. Our fleet matches this configuration.

FAQ
Do I need to charge the Yaris Hybrid?
No, never. It is a self-charging full hybrid: the battery recharges on braking, deceleration and via the petrol engine. You simply fill up with petrol, less often than with any other car in our fleet.
What is the real-world consumption?
In town, 3.5 to 4 L/100 km; on the motorway at 120 km/h, 4.5 to 5 L/100 km. With 36 litres, expect 750 to 900 km of range depending on use. It is the most frugal car in our fleet.
Is the Yaris Hybrid a real automatic?
Yes: two pedals and a P-R-N-D-B lever. The e-CVT is even smoother than a conventional automatic, with no perceptible gear changes. B mode increases regenerative engine braking downhill.
How much luggage fits in the Yaris?
