Canyon orange new 2026 Opel Frontera GS with black roof, front three-quarter view

In 2024 Opel revived the Frontera name for an all-new compact SUV, engineered and designed in Germany on Stellantis' Smart Car platform – the same as the Citroën C3 Aircross. Opel Vizor front end with LED headlights, a boxy rugged silhouette, contrasting black roof on GS, and a 4.39 m body seating five or seven. Opel Morocco offers it as a 48 V hybrid 1.2 turbo with 145 hp and e-DCT6 dual-clutch automatic, in Edition (283,000 MAD) and GS (304,000 MAD) trims.

Fun & Run rents the Frontera as a 7-seat hybrid automatic. Inside, the Pure Panel combines two 10-inch screens, Intelli-Seat seats relieve your back on long trips, and Intelli-Grip adapts traction to slippery roads. The stowable third row and versatile boot make it the most "German" compact 7-seater in our fleet: ideal for a family of six or seven wanting a frugal, modern hybrid automatic.

The new Frontera: engineered, designed and built in Germany

The Frontera revives a legendary Opel name – the 1990s 4x4 – for a modern compact SUV with confidently boxy styling: black Opel Vizor front end housing the LED headlights and the Blitz, horizontal bonnet, pronounced wheel arches, sill protection and roof bars. The GS trim adds a contrasting black roof and sporty details; Canyon orange is the launch colour.

The cabin is designed for family life: Pure Panel with two 10-inch screens, Intelli-Dock holder to mount your smartphone on the dashboard, Intelli-Seat seats with a centre cut-out that relieves tailbone pressure on long trips, plenty of storage and USB-C ports in all three rows. In 7-seat form, row 2 folds for access to the two row-3 seats, which stow into the floor.

Under the bonnet, the 136 hp 1.2 turbo is paired with a 21 kW electric motor built into the e-DCT6 dual-clutch gearbox and a 48 V battery: 145 hp combined, 5.4 L/100 km and over half of urban driving in electric mode. Intelli-Grip adapts traction to slippery roads, sand and mud included.

Why the 7-seat Frontera for your stay in Morocco

The Frontera is made for families of six or seven who want a compact hybrid automatic: 4.39 m to park in city centres, a high driving position and ground clearance that shrugs off speed bumps and secondary roads, and a 145 hp engine that keeps reserves on the motorway even when loaded. In real use, expect 6 to 6.5 L/100 km and over 650 km per tank.

With 7 seats the boot is limited to about 260 litres – cabin bags –; with six aboard and one row-3 seat stowed you get a real boot, and with 5 seats the 460 litres swallow four large suitcases. USB-C ports in every row and automatic climate control keep everyone connected and cool.

Against the 7-seat Citroën C3 Aircross, its technical twin, the Frontera relies on Vizor styling, Intelli-Seat seats and Intelli-Grip; against the Dacia Jogger, it is automatic, hybrid and far better equipped. The "German" compact 7-seater of our fleet.

FAQ

Does the hybrid Frontera need to be plugged in?

No. It is a 48 V mild hybrid: the battery recharges on braking and deceleration, and the electric motor assists the engine or drives the car alone at low speed. You simply fill up with petrol. Not to be confused with the fully electric Frontera Electric, which we don't rent.

Are the row-3 seats suitable for adults?

For children, teenagers or average-height adults on short to medium trips. Row 2 folds for access. For seven adults over long distances, prefer the Kia Carens, Kodiaq or Santa Fe.

Frontera or 7-seat Citroën C3 Aircross?

They are technical twins: same platform, same 145 hp e-DCT6 hybrid, same dimensions. The Citroën relies on plush comfort (Advanced Comfort suspension), the Opel on boxier styling, Intelli-Seat seats and Intelli-Grip. Choose by style and availability.

How much luggage with 7 aboard in the Frontera?

About 260 litres with 7 seats: six cabin bags or two medium suitcases. With six aboard and one row-3 seat stowed, expect about 350 litres; with 5 seats, 460 litres for four large suitcases. A roof box can be provided on request.

Is the Frontera a 4x4 like the old one?

No: the new Frontera is a front-wheel-drive SUV with Intelli-Grip, a traction control with snow, mud and sand modes. It handles rough roads and graded tracks; off-roading is excluded by our terms. For a real 4x4, book the KGM Rexton.

What deposit for the Opel Frontera?

On the Basic plan a pre-authorisation is taken on your credit card and released on return; the amount is shown on the vehicle page. On Premium, no deposit and no excess, and child seats are free.
