MG is one of the fastest-growing brands in Morocco, and the MG3 is its entry point. The fourth generation, unveiled in 2024 and launched in Morocco in early 2025, has nothing in common with the little MG3 of the 2010s: new platform, expressive styling defined by the "hunting eye" headlights, a dual-screen cabin and a level of technology usually found a segment above. For 2026, MG Morocco offers it as a 1.5 L petrol automatic (Ultimate trim) and as a 195 hp Hybrid+.

Fun & Run runs three MG3s: the "MG 3 + ICE", i.e. the new generation with the petrol engine (ICE = internal combustion engine) and automatic gearbox; and two previous-generation MG3s, one automatic and one manual, for the tightest budgets. The new MG3: a city car punching above its weight

With the fourth generation, MG took the MG3 very seriously. The 4.11 m body adopts sculpted flanks, a wide grille framed by slim headlights dubbed "hunting eye" and light-trail tail lamps that make it recognisable at night. 16-inch alloys and bright colours (red, blue, pearl white) give it a more premium look than its price suggests.

The cabin is built around two screens: a 7-inch digital cluster in front of the driver and a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The multifunction steering wheel, inspired by MG's racing cars, groups audio, phone and cruise control. Stitched upholstery and a clean console give a sense of quality unexpected in this class.

On safety, the MG3 carries the MG Pilot suite: autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and keeping, adaptive cruise control and, depending on trim, a rear or 360° camera. Electronic stability control, ABS and front and side airbags are standard.

Why rent an MG3 in Morocco

The MG3 suits travellers who want a small modern automatic without paying compact-car rates. On Casablanca's boulevards or the Aïn Diab Corniche, the automatic gearbox and rear camera remove all stress; smartphone mirroring puts Waze or Google Maps on the large screen, essential for navigating the metropolis' interchanges.

Its 4.11 m footprint sits between a Hyundai i10 and a Renault Clio: roomier than the former, cheaper than the latter. The 293-litre boot is still a city car's – count on two hold suitcases – but the folding bench helps for a trip to the Morocco Mall or Derb Ghallef market.

Which MG3 to pick from our fleet?

The "MG 3 + ICE" is the new generation: if you care about the dual screens, driver aids and current design, this is the one. It costs a little more per day than the other two, yet stays below compact-car rates.

The "MG 3 Automatique" is the previous generation with an automatic gearbox: less high-tech but just as easy to live with, with touchscreen, rear camera and air conditioning. Along with the Kia Picanto, it is the cheapest automatic in our fleet. The manual "MG 3" is the pure budget choice: same car, 5-speed manual, minimum rate.

In every case our MG3s are 5-seat city cars with unlimited mileage and free airport delivery: the choice mostly comes down to your automatic/manual preference and how much you value onboard technology.

• MG 3 Automatique – génération précédente — Version rented by Fun & Run : 1.5 L petrol, 4-speed automatic, 106 hp, ≈ 6.5 L/100 km. The facelifted previous-generation MG3, with an 8" touchscreen, rear camera and the same 106 hp 1.5 L. A reliable, simple automatic at a gentler rate.
• MG 3 – génération précédente, manuelle — Version rented by Fun & Run : 1.5 L petrol, 5-speed manual, 106 hp, ≈ 6 L/100 km. The most economical version: same body and engine as the previous-generation automatic MG3, with a manual gearbox. Ideal for a minimal budget with a bigger boot than an i10.

What does "MG 3 + ICE" mean in your fleet?

ICE stands for Internal Combustion Engine: it is the new fourth-generation MG3 in 1.5 L petrol automatic form, as opposed to the MG3 Hybrid+ sold by MG Morocco. The other two MG3s in the fleet are the previous generation.

Is the MG3 a reliable car for a stay in Morocco?

On the new MG3 the 10.25-inch screen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wired via USB): navigation, music and calls appear on screen. The previous-generation automatic MG3 also has a touchscreen with smartphone mirroring on most units.

Is the automatic MG3 suitable for the motorway to Marrakech or Rabat?

Yes. The 106 hp 1.5 L and automatic gearbox hold 120 km/h effortlessly, with cruise control to respect the limits. Expect about 6 to 6.5 L/100 km on the motorway. The MG3 is a city car: simply avoid unpaved tracks.
